How does the caller from India call me using Call Me Free Plan?

On purchasing a Call Me Free plan, you will receive your toll free number which you can view either via In App Message sent to you on buying the plan or via "My Account". The toll free number will look something like 000800XXXXXXX. The caller from India needs to call the full toll free number from their Airtel India Landline or Mobile Number. For example: they will need to dial 0008007000123 from their phone

How do I Know about my CALL ME FREE toll free number?

On purchasing a CALL ME FREE plan, a toll free number will be assigned to you.

You will receive this number as an inapp message in your app.

When does the airtel number of my Indian friend or relative's gets mapped with my CALL ME FREE toll free number?

When you share your CALL ME FREE toll free number with your any one loved one in India and once he makes a call to you by dialing this toll free number for more than 30 seconds then your loved ones' Indian number gets mapped to your CALL ME FREE toll free number.

Now only he can make calls to you using this CALL ME FREE toll free number.

How many Airtel Landline / Mobile Phone Numbers can I receive a call from?

For how long can I use my CALL ME FREE toll free number?

Your number is valid for 30 days as per the pack validity. You can always renew the pack and extend the validity.

How many CALL ME FREE numbers can I have at one time?

You can have only one CALL ME FREE number at a time.

What happens to my credit if I change my device?

You need to install airtel talk on the new device and register using the old mobile number. Your existing credit will be visible on airtel talk in your new device.

What happens to my CALL ME FREE number in case I change my SIM?

As long as the application is registered with your old phone number, CALL ME FREE calls will continue to work. Only when you activate your airtel talk with a different phone number the CALL ME FREE calls will seize to work

Can I use CALL ME FREE number while I'm travelling abroad?

Yes, people can reach you on your subscribed CALL ME FREE toll free number while you are travelling abroad.

I can't see my existing airtel talk credit?

You can access your account info using 'my account' tab within the app or by logging in to my.airteltalk.airtel.com.

If you still don't see the credit in your account, please log your complaint with our support team by clicking the support button under Info.

My Credit Card / Pay Pal bill amount charged is higher than actual?

airteltalk can be purchased in US dollar only. You need to verify the local currency exchange rates for the same from your Bank. Some extra charges may have been levied by your bank.

I did not receive my airteltalk credit after buying the services?

In case you have purchased a monthly subscription, the subscription will not be visible to you and the balance will appear as 0 credit, but you will still be able to make calls to that destination. The subscription plan is calculated by minutes of call per day and therefore will not show as credits to use in your account.

Credit Balance will only show your pay-as-you-go balance to make calls across the globe.

How do I cancel my subscription to India calling or call me free service?

You can't cancel your subscription - it will expire with in 30 days from purchase. If you wish to stop call me free service to your 0008x number please contact customer support.

I purchased airtelOut credit on my iPhone/iPad but didn't receive the credits?

Please close the application on your device and login again. Once you login again, you will be able to see your available credit.

If you are still unable to view/use your credits, please contact our support team at airteltalk@in.airtel.com or by tapping on support tab under Info.

Can I purchase airtelOut credits using a desktop?

Yes, you may buy credits using a desktop by logging into your account at www.airteltalk.com/airteltalk

Once you are logged in, choose your desired credit plan, Monthly subscription or Pay-as-you-go, and proceed to checkout.

How can I check my credit balance?

To check your credit balance, tap on the "More" button on the bottom navigation bar in iOS and on the "my account" button in android. Your current balance will appear at the top.

Will my credit ever expire?
  1. In case you have Pay-As-You-Go credit, then your credit never expires and is carried forward every month
  2. In case you have purchased a monthly subscription pack,, the validity is 30 days. Once the pack expires, your minutes/credit are not carried forward.
Can my Smart phone be used by my friend / relative having airtel talk credit?

You can handover your mobile to your friends, if you allow them to use your airteltalk account. If you believe there are chances of misuse , it's better to unsubscribe first.

What is airtel talk credit?

airtel talk credit is the credit that you would need to purchase in order to use airtel talk paid services like making international calls etc.

How do I choose my call plan?

You can go to "My account" and select the plan that you want to buy, from among our Pay-as-You-Go, Monthly Subscription plans, or CALL ME FREE plan. You will be redirected to the payment gateway where you can make the payments and proceed.

For the iOS users, we also have "In App" purchase facility available. Users need to go the "More" option on the bottom of their Airtel Talk App on iOS devices and click on "Credits and Plans". These users can buy Pay As You Go (PAYG) credits through In App purchase facility. The PAYG credits denominations here are different from the ones available on the website. http://www.airtel.com/airteltalk. For buying other special calling plans/packages on IOS devices, you need to go our website http://www.airtel.com/airteltalk through your safari browser or any browser on your laptop/PC.

How do airtel talk call plans work?

Once you subscribe to a call plan the bundled free minutes/credit value would be updated in your account.

How can I check how many minutes are left in my package?

Once you subscribe to a package, the bundled free minutes or the credit value (depending on the plan subscribed for) would be updated in your account.

Do my unused minutes get carried forward to the next month?
  1. In case you have Pay-As-You-Go credit, then your credit never expires and is carried forward every month.

Can I be subscribed to multiple packages at one time?

Yes, you can make calls till the time you have credit in your airtel talk account.

What is Airtel Talk’s Fair Usage Policy?

Airtel Talk’s fair usage policy (“FUP”) is designed to prevent fraud and abuse of our products. Airtel Talk’s products are for individual use only. The following is a non-exhaustive list of practices that would not be considered Legitimate Use:

  • Using calling plans for telemarketing or call-centre operations;
  • Re-selling plan minutes;
  • Sharing calling plan minutes between users whether via a PBX, call centre, computer or any other means;
  • Calling numbers (whether singly, sequentially or automatically) to generate income for yourself or others as a result of placing the call, other than for your individual business communications: and
  • Unusual calling patterns inconsistent with normal, individual subscription use, for example, regular calls of short duration or calls to multiple numbers in a short period of time.

Other practices may be relevant in determining Legitimate Use and Airtel Talk reserves the right to take any unlawful, prohibited, abnormal or unusual activity into account in making its determination. Airtel Talk may at its option, terminate or suspend its relationship with you, and your use of any Airtel Talk product immediately if it determines you are using the product contrary to this FUP. Calling Plans Fair Usage Policies
Subject to this FUP, Airtel Talk’s unlimited packs allow unlimited calls to the plan’s destination (excluding special, premium, service and non-geographic numbers) for the time period specified at the time of purchase.

Globe Philippines Unlimited Plan: This pack allows calls to only Globe Numbers and carries a capping of max 5000 mins which a user can consume during the 30 days validity of subscribed calling plan
The plan also restricts users to not call more than 5 number during the validity of the subscribed pack. This restriction resets on the next purchase of the calling plan and user again can call any 5 different numbers through the validity of the plan

India Unlimited Plan (Airtel only): This pack allows calls to only Airtel Numbers and carries a capping of max 1500 mins which a user can consume during the 30 days validity of subscribed calling plan

Does airtel talk work with all mobile devices?

The current version of airtel talk works with iOS and Android devices. However, it will soon be available on other operating systems as well.

How can I know which version of airtelTalk am I using?

To know the airtelTalk version, kindly go to > about us.

Why is an iPad user not showing up in my contacts?

Your contact may have registered for airtel talk using a different phone number. Simply add that number to your native address book. They will show up in your airtel talk contact list and you can start making voice calls video calls and do so much more for free!

What all devices can support airtel talk?

Presently airtel talk is supported on smartphone and iPad devices with the following operating systems:

iOS version 6 and above

Android version 4.1 and above

How do I get airtel talk on my iPad?

Please visit app store for iOS. To use airtel talk on an iPad device you may register with your mobile number or login with an already registered phone number.

Once you login on your secondary device, you will automatically be signed out from the previous device as only one device can be connected at a time. Follow the simple steps on the screen for registration.

Can I keep using the old version of airtel talk?

In order To enjoy better call quality & all the great features of airteltalk, we recomment to use the latest version of airtel talk.

Service for older versions will be gradually suspended.

When upgrading, do I need to uninstall the old version?

No. Just upgrade airteltalk from your App store.

How do I reactivate/deactivate my account?

To deactivate your account on iOS, go to the "More" tab and select Deactivate Account. For android, tap on "settings", followed by "deactivate this device". Please note that there is a limit on the no. of times you may deactivate and reactivate your account and if you exceed the maximum you will be locked out of reactivation.

To reactivate your account you will need to re-register.

Can I use the same airtel talk account on multiple devices?

Yes! airtel talk can be used on multiple devices with the same mobile number. However, only one of the devices can be active at one time

For example, if you have a smartphone and an iPad, download airtel talk on each device separately and follow the registration process for mobile & iPad

Tip #1: We suggest you use a different phone number to register on each device. On your iPad you can use a fixedline if you don't have another phone number. We will send you an activation code by voice call to that fixedline.

Tip #2: If you want friends to call you over airtel talk on your iPad, they can simply add to their phone book the fixedline/secondary number you used to register. Now you can receive free calls, messages & video calls to your phone number-free device.

Will all my exisiting contacts and airtelOut credits move with me to the new airtel talk version?

Yes! If you upgrade airteltalk on the same device, all your current contacts and credit will transfer with you.

If you accidentally uninstalled airtel talk and need to download the new version of airteltalk from the App Store, you can bring your credit and contact list over to the new version by logging in to your old account on our website.

Which airtel talk features are available free of charge?

airtel talk offers two call options, free calls and airtelOut calls.

Free call: Call to another airtel talk user who is connected to you through your airtel talk contact list.

airtelOut call: Call to a non-airtel talk user, landline, mobile phone or an airtel talk user not connected to you through airtel talk contact list.

Will there be any additional charges If I use airtel talk internationally?

No, there are no additional charges if you use airtel talk internationally. There is no connection fee applicable and no taxes.

What are the accepted payment modes?

You can use a Paypal account (you can create a paypal account by using almost any credit card) or you can also do the payments using a credit card or debit card.

I have a payment related issue, what should I do?

Is my credit card information safe and protected?

Yes, all credit card information submitted is encrypted on our secure servers. We understand our users' concerns about credit card security. All transaction details - including customer name and credit card numbers are encrypted using SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) for maximum security.

I have completed the purchase but its not showing in my account?

What should I do in case I'm charged double the amount?

If you believe you've been charged double, first check with your credit card provider; at times they hold more than one transaction in pending status, especially if it took a few tries to complete the transaction.

If there is indeed more than one transaction in settled status, send an e-mail airteltalk@in.airtel.com with your purchase reference no. (can be found in purchase history), credit card statement, or another form of written confirmation.

What should I do in case I get a transaction failed message?

In case you get transaction failure message, you need to retry buying the service. When the transaction is completed successfully, you will see the successful status message on screen and also receive an alert from your bank.

How do I raise a dispute?

Customer can raise a dispute by writing to us airteltalk@in.airtel.com. Customer can also raise a transaction related dispute with the Paypal Resolution Center. We will reach out to you at the earliest

Till how much time will I be eligible for raising a dispute?

Customer can raise a service related dispute within 7 days of the occurrence of the event. Customer can raise a transaction related dispute within 15 days of the event and if Airtel has charged a Customer in error, the Customer shall contact Airtel within 15 days of such an event. No waivers for error correction will be given for charges more than 15 days old.

Under what scenarios can I ask for a refund?

Packages & PAYG balance are non-refundable, once charged customer has to use these packages and plans in total.

How can I cancel my purchase?

How do I register for airtel talk?

To register for an account, first download airtel talk from your phone's app store. Once the installation is complete, follow the below mentioned steps:

  1. Open airteltalk on your screen
  2. Enter your phone number and press "Continue" to receive One Time Password (OTP) via SMS for verification of entered mobile number.
  3. Enter the authentication code to confirm your device and select "Continue." Now enjoy using airtel talk!

If you do not receive an SMS you may request to receive another SMS or choose to receive the code through a voice call.

Where is my password (OTP)?

When you enter your mobile number on the registration page, a one time password (OTP) will be sent to your entered mobile number via SMS. This one time password (OTP) will be used as your login verification password.

Will I be charged for the incoming registration SMS?

airtel talk does not charge anyone for the SMS/voice call registration/IVR and is happy to provide this service to you free of charge.

I did not receive the registration SMS?
  1. Double check that the correct mobile number has been entered during registration. If the number is correct, you should receive the SMS within maximum 2 minutes.
  2. If the message is still not received, press the "No Code" button located within the registration screen to receive your code by an incoming call, free of charge.
  3. In case you are still unable to register, try closing the application on your device (note: application should be closed, not simply minimized) and restart airteltalk. Now begin & try to register again.
Can I register on airteltalk through Fixed line number or Do I need to be a mobile user to use airtel talk?

To register to airteltalk on an iPad device you must use a phone number, however it does not need to be a mobile number and can be a secondary number/fixedline. To register, follow below mentioned steps:

  1. Insert your landline phone number or secondary phone number in the registration page and click "Continue"
  2. A new screen will appear asking for an activation code. Tap on the button in the top right corner that says "No Code?"
  3. Click "Call me" to receive your activation code by voice call.

If you're having trouble receiving the verification code for your account, you can request a new code:

On Android - press the "no code" then you have two options

Option one - request to resend code by SMS - press the "resend" button

Option two - request to receive a call with OTP - press the "continue" button

If you have recently updated your device to iOS 7 please ensure that you allow airteltalk to use your microphone by following below mentioned steps:

I cannot see my airteltalk contacts after iOS 7 update on my iPhone?

If you have updated the iOS version on your iPhone device and cannot locate your airtel talk contacts, please check the privacy settings on your device.

Go to device settings -> privacy -> contacts. Enable airteltalk app

Can I use my airteltalk abroad with a different SIM card?

Yes! airteltalk works on your mobile device even after removing the SIM card. It just needs Internet connection.

So you may use your airteltalk account on your device abroad even after removing or swapping the SIM.

Please note, if you delete the app or logout from your account, you would need the SIM to re-register as OTP would come to the mobile number for verification.

Why do voice calls drop or disconnect in between?

airteltalk requires a mobile network signal 3G/4G or a WiFi connection.
Poor internet connection would lead to Call drop . Try switching to another access point in your device settings or moving somewhere where you can get a stronger signal and call again.

My airtel talk isn't working. Cannot connect at all?

Please make sure you are using the latest version of airtel talk available in your app store and your internet connection is working on the device.

airtel talk is pleased to offer you a Free test call & SMS facility which would enable you check the Quality of service.

For iOS, tap on 'More' & then on 'Diagnostics'. For android, tap on 'Settings' followed by 'Diagnostics'

Then select 'Test Call' for checking the voice call clarity & 'Test message' for SMS service.

When I make a video call, I can only see my own face?

In the new version of airtel talk, when you make a video call and the other side answers, the video is not automatically switched on (for privacy reasons).

The person you are calling must open his/her video camera after answering. The video calling is only available for app to app call.

  1. Get Friendly scheme is not applicable for users of Singapore
  2. All users, except the users of Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain and Singapore get 60 minutes of free calling to India on downloading the app. 60 minutes calling is valid for only 1 day.

How do I make a voice call on airtel talk?

Go to the contacts page on airtel talk, if you see a red color airtel talk icon along with yur contact's name, they are on airtel talk and you can call them for free by tapping on their name and then the call button. If your contact is not on airtel talk, please tap "AirtelOut"(for iOS) and "low cost" (for Android) to call using airteltalkOut.

Contacts cannot be directly removed from airteltalk. However, they can be completely removed from your device by deleting the contact from the device Address Book.

What is Timeline?

airtel talk Timeline shows your dynamic airtel talk history with each of your contacts including mutual texts and call history, in combined chronological order. You can also sort to see just text messages or just calls.

To view timeline:

  1. Select a contact in airtel talk Contacts
  2. Tap on the Info icon (in Android) & the ">" icon (in iOS)

How do I make a video call?

Video calls are supported between airtel talk (app to app) users on supported devices. Go to the airtel talk Contacts page -> choose the contact you wish to call -> tap on the Video icon.

How do I make a Group Video call?

All contacts must be part of airtel talk community. To initiate the call, go to Contacts page and choose a contact you wish to connect with. Once the call is received, press the Options button on the screen to invite other contacts . Once the call has been initiated, you will see a split screen with your camera's output in the bottom left corner. Each contact that answers the call will be added to the screen.

How do I add a contact to Favorites?

Scroll to the favorites page of airtel talk contacts. Tap on the '+' sign and select the contact you wish to add to favorites.

Will airteltalk replace my regular line?

Airteltalk works over the internet and hence it doesn't replace your regular line. In addition it does not offer 911 service.

How do I make an international call?

For international calls to landlines and mobile numbers, please purchase our monthly subscription packs or put credit in your account airtel talk credit is required to use this feature).

What is airtelOut?

airtelOut is an airtel talk feature using which you can make international calls to anywhere across the globe. All you need to do is purchase AirtelOut credit.

Can I call people who don't have airtel talk?

When airtel talk is not active, you would get push notifications from the Apple or Google cloud. In order to make or receive calls we recommend you to keep the app active. The app moves to background if not in use for more than 5 mins.

What is airtel talk chat?

With airtel talk , you can now chat for free with all your airtel talk contacts. You can select the contact with whom you want to do a 'Free Chat' and start chatting and sharing for free.

What is airtel talk SMS Out?

With airtel talk SMSOut , you can now send texts to anywhere in the world at very competitive rates. All you need is to have airtel talk credit and you can start texting.

How do I delete messages from chat?

You need to tap & hold the message for a second and the 'delete' option will appear.

Can I retrieve deleted messages?

No, retrieved messages are kept on the client side only and therefore once its deleted you cant retrieve it again.
